Sanctuary of the Mare de Déu de la Pineda
The temple was built during the first half of the
13th century , despite the fact that only the annexed defense tower remains from that time, since the current building is from the 18th century.
Until that moment when it became a sanctuary, it had been a church and parish of the old territory of La Pineda.
You will be amazed when contemplating its interior, where you can find the altarpiece from the same century as the building, which frames the
image of the Mare de Déu , a bas-relief on a stone plate that is believed to date from the
second half of the 14th century .
You can find it between the Salou-Tarragona highway and Raval de la Mar, in the direction of Vila-seca.
Sculptural Group "Pineda"
Located on the
beach of La Pineda, without a doubt it is one of the most representative symbols of La Pineda.
This imposing sculpture is
24 meters high and weighs 130 tons. The eight pines that make up this work, designed by the artist Xavier Mariscal, offer a unique beauty to the promenade.
Did you know that behind the sculpture there is a symbology?
It represents the sustainability, projection and urbanism of La Pineda. The first four pines were installed in 1999 and the remaining four in 2008.
This sculpture, made of steel and copper, has become the
international symbol of La Pineda .
You cannot leave La Pineda without taking a photo under this emblematic sculpture!
Sculptural Group “Marca d'aigua”
You cannot miss this iconic sculpture that will receive you
filtering the light and the wind to the south of La Pineda beach .
This fantastic work of art, built from steel by the sculptor Sergi Aguilar,
pays homage to the writer and poet Carles Barral , considered one of the souls of the literary generation of the 50s.
A special work of art, made up of four columns that represent the sea, the wind, the land and the paths of La Pineda, marking the four cardinal points of the wind rose: tramontana, east, midday and west.
You can find this monument in the
Racó area.
